stacked columns

Well this was certainly finished at the right time. The temperature plummeted earlier in the week and the frost set right on in. The last couple of days have seen a respite but we are told it will turn cold once again within days. I can't say I'm looking forward to it.

Stacked Columns is a brilliant pattern, perfect for those increasing days when I feel less inclined to put on a dress but merely don a pair of trousers and simple jumper instead. It has been several weeks in the making though, for however captivating the interesting stitch pattern was at the start, its length meant it had to be juggled alongside something else. The final furlong, not to mention the realisation that it is well and truly wrap up time, was all it took to eventually reach the stage of sewing in those ends.

And I love it. LOVE IT! I loved using Madelinetosh (Merino DK) too, which is a good squishy yarn and the 'French Grey' colour is amazing. A tinge of my favourite colour but also satisfying my yearning for browns these days! Incidentally I deliberately didn't block my wrap because I wanted to keep the columns rounded, just as they should be. More details and pics can be found on Ravelry here.

So, once again I have abandoned my little space here. Real life has just taken over, I'm afraid, but my silence in words doesn't mean I have neglected all creativity. I have more to share but that will have to wait for another time.

What is your news, I wonder? My absence from your neck of the blogosphere needs a bit of attending to .. so I shall see you soon, no doubt!

Keep well, everyone.
