green for the girl

Thank you all for the welcome back, that was a real treat and much appreciated. It's good to be here once again and rest assured, I shall be making my return visit to you very soon!

Not an awful lot of making has been going on here this Summer, I'm afraid, but I did sew this dress back in June. It was when the sun came out and the Model put on her Summer clothing that I suddenly realised how much she has grown. Last year's dresses are all but indecent and have been relegated to tunics now. But with our trip to London getting ever closer, I needed to make something up at a moments notice!

I do love linen, don't you? It is so cool, comfortable and easy to wear, you really can't beat it. The Model chose this vibrant turquoise/green linen which I last used for Vanessa's tunic dress here. Oh and that reminds me, the harmony and rosie empire has been shut for way longer than I ever intended but come September, watch this space!

This is, by all intents and purposes, just a simple short sleeved A-line shift, however the difference is in the neckline. I stitched the elastic a centimetre or so down from the top so that the neckline stands a little proud. I rather like it that way and would have done the same at the sleeves, only the Model didn't agree and, let's face it, who am I to argue. I shan't be wearing it after all. Mind you, I wouldn't say no!

So, my friends, I wish you a happy weekend, what ever you may be doing. Enjoy.
