a two year giveaway - NOW CLOSED

Thank you to all who made such lovely comments on my last two posts, I loved and really appreciated them! You bloggy girls really are the best!

It will be my second blog birthday on the 29th of this month so I thought I would celebrate with a giveaway and have three things to put in the parcel.

The first is a pair of earrings made with 1940s Japanese glass rondelle and lampwork beads and a pretty 1930s salmon-pink stone which is ridged and iridescent so quite unusual. The daisy earwires are made of lead and nickel free plated and lacquered brass but if you prefer, I can fit plain gold filled ones instead.

The second thing is a purse made from the remnants of two dresses you may be familiar with. The outer fabric is from my most recent make and the lining is from this red dress. It has a length of vintage cream lace on one side and a cheery, cherry red zip.

And thirdly, I have a small but stylish A6 note book which will fit neatly into your handbag or by your bedside. I don't know about you but I have taken to putting a pad next to my bed because I quite often think of something that needs to be done for next morning and writing it down is a lot less hassle than getting out of bed!

If you would like to join in the giveaway all you need do is leave a comment here .. perhaps you could tell me what you're planning for the Half Term holiday, if you have one that is. If you're a follower (new ones are more than welcome) or a regular contributor you will get a second chance and if you're prepared to put the header photo on your blog, let me know and you'll get a third. I am prepared to send to anywhere in the big wide world and will close the giveaway at midnight GMT on Saturday 29th. The winner will be announced on Sunday 30th.

Meanwhile a big, huge, massive thank you to everyone who has followed, made comments and generally tolerated my words and pictures over the last 24 months, that's quite a lot isn't it?

Have a great week, everyone!

  1. Ooh, half term ... a dim and distant memory here I'm afraid, younger son will be 21 in a matter of weeks! Which makes me feel incredibly old, although I should add that I started young ... at his age I was married and with elder son to follow within the year!
Half term always meant parties and treats here as elder daughter's birthday invariably fell in half term week.
Just discovered to my surprise that I was not already officially a follower here ... quickly remedied :D

  2. What a beautiful giveaway! I love everything! Please put my name in the draw....and I am a follower (have just become one, but thought I already was one!). I think having a notebook to hand all the time, including by the bed, is essential for crafters as you never know when a great idea might strike....Have a happy day, and thanks for offering such a generous giveaway. My plans for half-term - get rid of this plaster and then spend some time outdoors with my boys :) They deserve a big treat for all their help recently so we shall be heading shopping and out to lunch :)

  8. Congratulations on 2 years of blogging Kate, time really does fly when you're having fun, doesn't it!
What a really generous giveaway, the earrings are so beautiful and I know how how lovely your purses are and this one is no exception. You can never ever have enough pretty notebooks either!!
Sadly my half-term days are over, when my two were little there always seemed to be a new Disney film out at half-term it was always one of their treats. Lion King, Pocahontas, Little Mermaid, ah those were the days, enjoy it while it lasts!

  11. Hey, what a lovely giveaway. Congrats on your two year anniv. This is one of my very favourite places to visit. Half term, we will be possibly maybe moving house (fingers crossed, touch wood, solicitors allowing ) and beginning a whole new life on the edge of the Cotswolds. It was our one year anniv last week, so we'll be just behind you on the giveaway front. Laura x

  16. Would be honoured to have a bit of Harmony & Rosie dangling from my earlobes and fingertips.

It's the beginning of the last term of school for the year here before we break for the Christmas/summer holidays - it's also exam term for mine - so we plan on getting through our days as best we can. The hardship of the beach beckons...

Congratulations on your blog. It's lovely.

  18. OMG, those earrings are beautiful! I bet those two years blogging just flew by, didn't they? They sure did for me. Happy Bloggiversary!

  19. Don't say tolerated! Your posts are far more interesting and inspiring than that would imply - I have been a follower since back at the beginning two years ago and have always enjoyed your posts.

We have lots of B&Bs in at half term, but Princess Bunchy and I will take a trip to London for a bit of culture - she's keen on the V&A, I am tempted by the Degas at the RA so there will be negotiations I am sure.

It is a lovely giveaway - a very generous one, too, and I will put your button on my blog.

  21. Wow! This is one stunning giveaway! I love it all although I am hankering (very privately) after those earrings... Pink being my favourite colour.

Half-term. Mmm, my eldest daughter is off to Normandy (where we lived before) to visit friends. My mother is visitng from England so I guess I shall be negotiating cleaning the house with a ransacking toddler at my side. We shall also be visiting my in-laws in Brittany.

It'll be so good just to spend time creating and making with the children.

    Goodness, that was boring.

I love your blog and although I have just become a follower I have been stalking you for many months now.

    Warmest wishes,

    Stephanie

  25. What amazing ear rings, so beautiful! Hasn't half term come quickly, I'm sure they've only been back at school about two weeks. We are off to North devon in the caravan, hoping for dry days on empty, windswept beaches.

  26. Oh happy birthday Kate!! Sadly, we don't have half term in Canada, but I am counting the days down to Christmas break. When I found your blog (those photos of the model in her dad's refashioned dress shirts), well over a year ago I was completely smitten.

  31. Happy Bloggy Birthday! I'm not a follower but I am a regular reader so does that count? We're having a very lazy half term but we all went to see the new Tintin movie yesterday, very good! This afternoon I've spent a happy half hour cleaning more gunk out of my nana's old singer and got it working beautifully! Hooray for backup machines!

  33. Happy 2nd year of blogging - two years of inspiring and beautiful posts.
I am busy organising my lovely son's 10th birthday - dealing with his Asperger's has made it an interesting and challenging 10 years but I wouldn't swap him for the world.
Your giveaway prize would make a great 10 years of mothering present to me!!

  34. Phew - caught this just in the nick of time. Happy happy blogiversary. I've spent the last week like a whirling dervish, choosing everything from tiles to paint to light fittings to fabric for every room in our house by the sea. Lovely and stressful in equal measure -so much to choose and so little time. The kind of thing that should be done at leisure over a number of months, not in ten days! Still, really excited about moving now.

Such a fab giveaway, thank you.

There's nothing like a comment to stop me feeling like I'm talking to myself. If you leave one here I'll pop one back here too, so don't forget to come back and continue the conversation ..
